A critical control project on the Xi’an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway (part of the national “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed rail network). It will end Chengkou County’s history of no railway and enable a direct rail link to Chongqing and Xi’an .

As of early 2026, the main pier construction was substantially complete. The project was expected to achieve substantial completion of the main structure by September 2026, with overall railway completion planned for November 2028 .
